Board of Directors

Liz is a lawyer with over a decade of combined legal experience across private practice, government and in-house roles with several companies in Perth. She graduated from Murdoch University with a Bachelor of Laws and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Studies from the University of Western Australia.

Liz was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa almost 15 years ago. While she struggles to navigate life with a deteriorating eye condition, she remains active by participating in sports and by contributing to the community.

Liz’s desire to help those living with low vision and blindness began when she raised funds for a guide dog as a community fundraiser. Her continued fundraising efforts for a nominated charity led to her participation in the Central Park Plunge, where she abseiled 130 metres down the Central Park building.

During Liz’s search for a group that focused on inherited retinal diseases, she came across Retina Australia. Through various interactions and social gatherings with the Friends of Retina Australia Perth, she found a network of supportive people and friends living with similar experiences caused by degenerative eye conditions.

Liz is committed to the challenge of ensuring required funds are raised for research into inherited retinal diseases.
