Since 1989, Retina Australia has raised over $6.4 million to support the world-leading research into inherited retinal diseases. Every donation is extremely valuable in helping us fund medical research programs into early detection, treatment, and ultimately a cure for inherited retinal diseases. The funds raised go directly to researchers and their teams, as they continue to work on innovative, life-changing projects which provide hope for over the estimated 19,000 people living with an inherited retinal disease in Australia.
We provide information about inherited retinal diseases including updates on treatments and medical research developments. You can find this information here on our website, with timely updates available through our bi‑annual newsletter – the Retina Reporter, our e‑newsletter – the Retina Insider, and via our information sessions and webinars. To access these, you can subscribe to our updates HERE.
We provide support services to those living with an inherited retinal disease, and to family and friends, including Guides for support, referral resources and peer support groups. Through education, advocacy and support, we aim to empower the estimated 19,000 Australians living with an inherited retinal disease.
