Rosemary Boyd is also the Convenor of the Governance Committee.
Rosemary was appointed as a Director of Retina Australia in 2008 and took on the role of honorary secretary in 2013, and then Company Secretary in 2016. Her contribution to the organisation commenced in 1986, when she joined the committee of Retina Australia (Vic), working alongside her husband who has an inherited retinal disease.
For many years, Rosemary served concurrently on the Victorian committee, as its secretary, as well as the national board, until the amalgamation of all state and territory groups with Retina Australia in 2018. Currently she represents Retina Australia at events, and on various committees, of affiliated organisations across Australia and world-wide, and has attended Retina International meetings as a delegate since 2010. Rosemary is a Life Member of the organisation.
Rosemary has worked in the public education sector for many years as a Teacher, Principal and Bureaucrat, and currently holds a senior regional role within the Victorian Department of Education and Training. She has extensive experience in all aspects of education, people management.
Rosemary has also contributed to the broader community through her work as the Executive Officer of Blind Citizens Australia, a program manager for the Teach for Australia initiative and as Chairman of the Ross House Association.
