Jonathan Brookes is the Chief Executive Officer of Retina Australia, the national organisation dedicated to supporting people affected by inherited retinal diseases and advancing progress toward a world without inherited blindness.

Jonathan brings significant senior leadership experience across the not for profit, insurance, financial services and consumer sectors, with a strong focus on advocacy, stakeholder engagement, organisational development and sustainable growth. He is recognised for his ability to build trusted partnerships, strengthen organisational capability and translate strategy into practical outcomes for communities.

Prior to joining Retina Australia, Jonathan held General Manager and senior leadership roles within mission-driven and commercial organisations, including serving as Director of Engagement at Eating Disorders Victoria, where he led initiatives to expand advocacy, education, fundraising and income diversification. His earlier career includes executive and general management roles across insurance and financial services organisations, building deep expertise in governance, commercial strategy and customer centred service delivery.

As Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan is committed to strengthening Retina Australia’s national voice, expanding support and connection for individuals and families, and fostering collaboration across research, policy and community sectors to improve outcomes for people living with inherited retinal disease.
